Our mission at Grain is to deliver delicious and exceptional bread, pastries and coffee to our local community every day of the week at our Lathlain & Shenton Park store and now through catering.
Five generations of experience
Baking is in our blood, we are now in our 6th Generation of owning bakeries. Our family first started selling pies in 1930 at Kondinin. From there, we moved to Bridgetown, Northam, and then Cunderdin. Wherever our family went, we opened a bakery.
We remained in Cunderdin until 1972 when we then decided to move to Perth. In Perth, we established the Bake-Inn Pie Shop in Plaza Arcade, selling pies, pasties, and sausage rolls for 23 years. From 1992 until 1997, we ran Tasty Bake at Garden City Shopping Centre, and in 1998, we moved to a bakery in the CBD where we owned it until 2023.
A FRESH TAKE ON A COUNTRY TRADITION
We wanted to mix the old with the new and wanted a suburban bakery, that’s when we opened Grain Bakery Lathlain in 2020. Shenton Park was soon then opened in October 2023.
Everything is made in house at both our bakeries. From the dough to our flaky croissants, everything is baked in our rotating four deck oven.
We are still using the same recipes for our award winning pies, sausage rolls and pasties 6 generations on.
